This weekend I was hanging out with a friend. This friend is a very positive person. Ask them how their day is going; they will tell you it’s great. That always strikes me because when they say it, they mean it. How can the day always be good, I ask? The friend said it’s always great because I make sure it’s a great day. This spoke to me because sometimes I find that we let the day happen to us- if bad things are happening then the day is labeled bad. But maybe there is a different perspective- maybe if bad things are happening instead of labeling it bad, maybe we should be asking ourselves one fundamental question- what do I need to do to make this a good day; how can I turn it around to be a better day? My circumstances are saying one thing but is there something I can do to make this a great day. If we’re honest with ourselves, we will probably find there is, and the seemingly bad day can become a great day. So the next time you are having a “bad” day; think about what your next actions need to be to change your circumstances – take a minute to think about it I guarantee you won’t regret it!
